Raymod Roessel is the founder & Chairman of PacificPine Sports Group setting and implementing the company's direction and strategy.


Mr. Roessel is also the CEO, Golf of Shankai Sports and oversees their 20 year partnership with the PGA TOUR to grow the PGA TOUR Series-China, China’s leading domestic professional tour and only pathway to the and PGA TOUR. 


In 2002 Mr. Roessel founded of i3 Sports, one of China’s leading boutique sports marketing agencies. i3 has brought the likes of Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Derek Jeter to Asia, i3 was acquired by Shankai Sports in 2018. Mr. Roessel has spent nearly 20 years in the Chinese sports marketing industry working with key stakeholders to advance the industry.


A Member of the PGA of America since 1998 and based in Hong Kong since 2001, Mr. Roessel was formerly Vice-President, Golf, at Lagardère Sports and Entertainment where he was responsible for managing the company’s relationship with the China Golf Association / Ministry of Sport and develop of the domestic professional Tour.


Mr. Roessel holds an MBA from the Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, as well as a BA from Mississippi State University.

FRANK AU, Vice Chairman

Frank Au is the co-founder and Managing Partner of PacificPine Group, an investment firm focused on technology, healthcare and consumer businesses in China. Mr. Au has spent over 20 years covering the technology and healthcare market in China. Mr. Au has spent over 15 years as an entrepreneur having founded, built and sold an independent investment banking business in China.


Mr. Au is the former President of China Renaissance Securities (HK), the wholly-owned broker dealer subsidiary of China Renaissance Group, the largest Internet focused investment bank in China. Mr. Au was the former CEO of Cowen and Company Asia and a member of Cowen’s global management committee. Mr. Au was the co-founder and President of Latitude Capital Group, a boutique M&A and private placement advisory firm with offices in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai which was acquired by Cowen Group (COWN:US). Prior to co-founding Latitude, Mr. Au was the former Head of Internet investment banking for Greater China at Lehman Brothers Asia.


Mr. Au holds a MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Columbia University.

ARJUN H. CHOWDRI, Board Director

Arjun H. Chowdri is the designated PGA of America Board Director.  The PGA of America is the world's largest sports organization, comprised of 28,000 men and women golf Professionals who are the recognized experts in teaching and growing the game. Founded in 1916, the PGA of America has enhanced its leadership position by conducting premier spectator events – PGA Championship, Ryder Cup, Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid and KPMG Women's PGA Championship – as well as significant philanthropic outreach initiatives, and award-winning golf promotions.


Arjun Chowdri, a member of the PGA of America staff since 2012, serves in the newly-created position of Chief Innovation Officer. Chowdri is responsible for fostering a culture of innovation, idea generation and free thinking at the Association and throughout the game of golf.


This includes identifying and executing against new growth areas and opportunities across the Association, such as the development of best practices and research platforms; guiding the development of new initiatives and services; encouraging and nurturing entrepreneurship both internally and externally; leading international expansion; and directing PGA investments and funding for the benefit of the Association and industry as whole.

Chowdriwas previously the Senior Director of Global & Corporate Strategy for the PGA of America (2015-18), where he was responsible for the Association’s strategic planning process, research and global initiatives. During this time, Chowdri developed an international strategy for the PGA, which included the launch of a new joint venture that is creating a series of youth development centers in China, as well as led a comprehensive bidding process for PGA Headquarters with various cities across the country, which produced the announced relocation of the PGA’s headquarters to Frisco, Texas. 

Previously, he led the PGA’s Marketing & Communications Department (2012-15), which included creative, public relations, digital, production and communications across all the Association’s initiatives and events.

After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Chicago and MBA at the University of Oregon, Chowdri started his career in sponsorship consulting, representing such Fortune 500 companies as Visa, ConAgra Foods, and PepsiCo. He then moved to India, taking on a role as the GM of New Business for DNA Entertainment LTD, where he primarily supported the launch of the Indian Premier League and implemented the first sports e-ticketing system in the country. Upon his return from India and prior to joining the PGA, he took on a role at Glaceau, which was then a newly-acquired division of Coca-Cola, where he led the sports and entertainment marketing efforts behind brands that included POWERADE, vitaminwater and NOS Energy.

JEFF OLYNIEC, Board Director

Jeff Olyniec is the co-founder and CEO of New Vision Display (NVD), a public company (SZSE: 300120.SZ) engaged in the manufacturing of LCDs, touch panels, and protective glass for use in products such as automobiles, medical equipment, and consumers goods.  He orchestrated the buyout of the entity from Flextronics (NYSE: FLEX) in 2012 and grew the company's revenue threefold by 2017.  He then completed a backdoor listing of NVD via Jing Wei Electric (SZSE: 300120.SZ) in August 2017 resulting in a 22x return for founding shareholders.


Mr. Olyniec is an active investor having founded or been involved in the start up of several entities during his 20+ years living in China. Industries in which he has held senior management positions or was a founder have included golf resorts, golf academies, high tech electronics components manufacturing, renewable energy manufacturing and development, sports equipment manufacturing, real estate development, and sports academies.


Mr. Olyniec has been a Member of the PGA of America since 1999.  He holds a Bachelors Business Administration from Mississippi State University, and is fluent in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese.

JOEL HAINES, Board Director

Joel Haines is the CEO of Five-Star Sports.  Headquartered in Shenzhen, and founded in 2012, Five-Star Sports is a nationwide sports academy with centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou & Chengdu.  Joel has lived in China for 11 years working in youth education and is fluent in written and spoken Mandarin. 


Joel has overseen the growth of Five-Star Sports from a one-person operation with a handful of students to a company with over 3700 students and over 60 employees across 5 cities in China.

Joel is originally from Canada and graduated from Crandall University with Degrees In Education and Psychology.
